Sunday, March 29th, 2009Update and New Look
Friday, November 7th, 2008No, I haven’t escaped.
The last month has been spent patiently waiting to start my new job. I suppose it’s important that criminal record/background checks are thorough but it still seems to be taking an amazingly long time to come to completion. Perhaps they think I’m a terrorist.
I’ve been floating about between Blackburn and Newcastle in nomadic style.
Golf has hopefully taken a turn for the better. I’m hoping to be swinging it well in time for the new season.
I love my iPhone.
Music has taken a bit of a back seat. I haven’t written anything new but spent a little time learning ‘Witchita Lineman’ for the sheer hell of it.
Gavin Burns hasn’t been available of late so I’ve been toying with the idea of putting a couple of acoustic numbers down, just in order to get a bit of feedback and to give me something to focus on. The new AlConway.com header image contains a few of the lyrics so I suppose that’s a start.
I still want an analogue synth. Weird noises should be listed amidst my hobbies.
I hope you’re enjoying the new look. If you haven’t seen the forums yet, I’d have a browse. That’s where I spout most of my nonsense. Suggestions are always welcome.
It’s only 7 weeks til Christmas.
Punch all your friends and family, it’ll make it exceedingly cheap and bring a new meaning to the phrase ‘credit crunch’.
Keep warm by setting yourself on fire.

Saturday, September 29th, 2007National Talk Like a Pirate Day!
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007Wireless.
Saturday, August 25th, 2007My work has just installed a wireless network so I’m going to be around here a whole lot more than I have been in the last month or two. I’m also going to do some research into some fun gadgets for the forum.
Afterburn has been phenomenal so far, I’m regularly laid out flat after the workouts and although I haven’t seen the scale plunging I can definitely tell my muscle mass has gone up and my body fat has gone down. Phase 2 starts on the 1st of September.
I’m about a third of the way through the latest 52DC and on schedule to meet my goals.
Shiny New Laptop
Thursday, June 28th, 2007Well, after a brief period of resurrection my old laptop finally gave up the ghost. I’ve taken delivery of a brand new dell one. On first impressions I’m impressed.
All seems to be present and correct, although I haven’t checked my new printer yet.
I’ve ordered a couple of things to make my life easier:
1) A HD enclosure so I can transfer all my music/pictures from my old PC
2) A wireless adapter for the printer so I can print from anywhere in the house
I have a further purchase planned for Wednesday which is not computer related but you’ll have to wait and see for the minute.
Credit Cards and Laptop Adventures
Monday, June 25th, 2007I have achieved my first credit card. £4K worth of spending power in the hope of luring me into the quicksand of debt. Little do they know I have a foolproof plan of taking advantage of their special offer and pissing off as soon as mission complete. In 3 months time, a £60 MP3 player should be mine, absolutely free of charge.
In celebration of this I have found a suitable laptop to be my first splurge. I have ordered a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a free Dell™ Photo All in One Printer 926. It should be with me in a few days. expect lots of rants on how shite Windows Vista is.
Ebuyer have still not refunded my cancelled order as of 7/6/2007. What a disgrace of a company. If I was the director of Ebuyer I’d be disgusted at the fact they’d made it so hard for me to give them my money; then portray the image of an unscrupulous profiteer with questionable morals by making money off their mistakes. Obviously a ton of expense spared on customer service. Do not buy from them. Neither cheap, efficient, accommodating or trustworthy.
