So.
I went a bit over my original budget but…

Solid top, back and sides… sounds tasty as well
<- time for a wee fist pump I think

My first encounter with lions.chase.tigers took place at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh invited by a manky bastard.
The place was approximately empty and I was tired and in no mood to be discovering something so electifyingly inspirational. “We are inside your soul” turned out to be a more than self-fulfilling prophecy.
The harmonious fragility in the lyrics, distinctive tonality in the vocals and expertise in variation of volume; synchronise perfectly with the emotions this band seem to be aiming to evoke. The guitars at times, sending shockwaves through the ribcages of the few that had attended.
Following up my gig experience I found their recordings extensively uplifting and, in beautiful contrast, at times throwing forth genuine unspecific rage. The recollection of the vocalist wearing his hooded top like a symbolic crash helmet instantly flooded back.
Since then, L.C.T have impressed with every gig I’ve taken in.
I shall be attending the launch of their first release, ‘TO THEIR BLOOD’, on Saturday 3rd October at ABC2, Glasgow. I’d thoroughly recommend you do too. Also playing are Light Guides (prev. We Hung Your Leader) who are also a treat to the ears.
We have a change of plan…
This afternoon, I had a wee wander round guitarguitar in Edinburgh looking for a sexy acoustic guitar to take home and make beautiful music with. The story of my life, I went home empty handed but learned a few things in the process.
Seems that I’m after a dreadnought body, the low end that comes through is exactly what I’m after in terms of sound.
It also seems that I need a cutaway. I often tend to fanny about further up the neck so that rules out many of the traditional ‘non electro’ types.
The current leader in the good fight is this:

I shall keep looking
Edinburgh based rock geniuses worthy of more than a few minutes of your time

Have a listen to ‘The City is Dead’ on their myspace <- do it
Venue: The Hive, Edinburgh
Date: 24/9/2009 7.30pm
